There are many different types of learners in any given classroom. For many students, visuals are a necessary part of the learning process. For others, music is needed to reach their learning potential. The article Using Song Picture Books to Support Early Literacy Development explores the effectiveness of using song picture books to teach literacy. As the research concluded, the repetition of the songs and descriptiveness of the illustrations lead to a deeper understanding of the language used and its meaning. In all, Illustration and music help strengthen literacy and learning skills in young children.
